This is a video I did a few days ago reflecting on the challenges we naturally face in our lives and how we can take a different perspective.
Is it better to avoid discomfort or work through it? Emotional discomfort. Physical discomfort. Negative thinking. We use a tremendous amount of our mind’s energy attempting to solve and avoid current, and future, issues. When we do this we lose the ability to leverage and alchemize our negative state of being. We don’t see an opportunity. We only see a problem or a block. Then we often mistake discomfort for permanency. Our minds are programmed to analyze for threat and avoid it.
What feels like something to avoid might actually be the opportunity for expansion. Our breakthrough moments typically arrive when we push through initial resistance rather than retreating when our minds tell us to “stop” or “slow down.”
These challenges aren’t punishments but opportunities for evolution physically, emotionally, and mentally. The critical shift happens when we change our perception about what’s merely painful versus what’s truly harmful.
We can remain trapped in familiar patterns or embrace a different relationship with difficulty that builds confidence and mastery. The way forward isn’t found in avoiding discomfort but in transforming how we perceive it.
