What's Missing In Private Practice Building
Continuing the conversation
We must have lost our minds to start a private practice. We left our stable jobs, benefits, and regular schedule. We no longer have a team of colleagues to consult with and help measure our success. What were we thinking?
Starting a private practice is quite possibly one of the most rewarding, life changing things a therapist can do. It's also terrifying at times. Scarcity mindset draws us to "shiny" marketing tactics that leave us feeling disappointed or even like a failure. What once was an exciting adventure can be a rollercoaster of self doubt and fear.
But it's the things we avoid, or don't talk about, that are the very things that are getting in the way of private practice therapists from loving their therapy business. The self doubt, the envy, the comparison, the fear of being successful, the things we don't even expect when we start our own business venture.
I've often said that starting a private practice business is the ultimate self growth laboratory. Not only can we learn how to be better business minded people, but we can grow as people and therapists. That benefits us and our clients. People need you to step up and out of your shell and into your full potential as a professional and as an example of what being a fully empowered therapist and person can look like.
