Hi, I’m Bradly Hale. I’m a professional clinical counselor though you might also think of me as a navigator of the mind, a seeker of hope, or even a wisdom coach.
At times, counseling can be a challenging journey. It's one filled with moments of victory and setback as well as joy and sadness. For many, though, it's a profound experience that instills hope, change, and above all else, wisdom.
I believe all people possess inherent wisdom; they just don’t know it. It’s because of this core belief that I put such an emphasis on helping folks find that wisdom. Wisdom, of course, can mean different things to different people. For me, it's the ability to be calm yet alert; to be assertive but flexible; to attune to both the rational side of our mind as well as the emotional side (even if, and perhaps especially when, those two are in direct opposition of one another). This balance I'm referring to is what we call “wise mind.”
I help folks find their “wise mind,” and I do this through listening with intent, asking pointed questions, and educating on how to take measurable steps to increasing one’s quality of life.
Furthermore, I teach concrete coping skills to help individuals regulate their emotions more effectively so that they can build and maintain healthy relationships with themselves and others.
In essence, my hope is to steer folks out of the fast lane in which we so often operate—a way of living that is wrought with damaging knee-jerk reactions and a lack of focus; "mindless living," if you will. Of course, my aim's the same for those on the opposite end of the spectrum as well—that is to say, living life in the slow lane. After all, that lane is also damaging, though in different ways. It's one wrought with disappointment, tireless indecision, and paralyzing fear. Ultimately, the goal here is to help folks find their way to the middle lane, as that's where we find the greatest meaning, awareness, serenity, and sense of self.
In doing this, I assist people in getting out of their minds and into their lives more. Far too often do we become mere spectators of our lives instead of the ones behind the wheel. We'll work on putting you back in that driver's seat so that you can participate in your life as you had before everything became too overwhelming. So what I have to offer:
- A space to explore the things that have been weighing on you without the fear of judgment; the things you have perhaps never said aloud or told anyone before, or just the stuff you need to kick around in the company of someone who’s honest and objective
- New ways of understanding that which is limiting you via the use of intentional exercises aimed at increasing insight and enhancing your overall sense of mastery
- Teaching you how not to fight your discomfort but instead, make room for it—something quite foreign to the human mind
- Tools to assist you at better reigning in the emotions that have negatively affected one or more domains of your life
To me, pain's inevitable... however, suffering? That's optional. It took me a long time to realize this in my own life, which is why I’m eager to meet you so that I can share what's worked for me as well as what's worked for my clients.
If you're ready to take the plunge, or just book a free 15-minute phone consultation with me, give me a call at 513-306-4000 or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to talking with you.
